Edinburgh had a good dose of terrain and it was full of gorgeous, old buildings and streets. Our hotel was just off the Royal Mile side of two main hills. From what I understand, some of the "hill" portion of the Mile is the recently re-opened, historic portion of the city that was sealed off because of plagues. We spent most of our time up and down the Royal Mile at shops and cafes. It is a pedestrian only street that connects the Castle and the former Royal Residence, which is next to Arthur's Seat. The city had a nice quaintness to it even while we were surrounded by so much history. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
